Penelope. Seven Ways To Wait — World Premiere

We are thrilled to announce that Music Will Save The World has commissioned the fully orchestrated version of Penelope. Seven Ways To Wait — a one-act opera by composer Kristina Arakelyan and librettist Helen Eastman.

The world premiere will take place on 22 August 2025 at the Ivano-Frankivsk Philharmonic (Ukraine) as part of Philharmonic Evenings II: British Edition 2025.

Penelope. Seven Ways To Wait is a deeply human exploration of endurance, love, and resilience — themes that lie at the heart of Music Will Save The World’s mission to connect music and empathy across borders.

Statement on classical music

We can no longer afford to underestimate the importance of live organic classical music in our societies. The impact of this art form is immeasurable and truly priceless. However, this "pricelessness" should not result in the music being underfunded, musicians poorly paid, or taken for granted.

Classical musicians around the world offer invaluable mental and emotional support through their performances, a service that cannot be quantified in monetary terms. Yet, it is crucial that they receive fair compensation that reflects their significant contribution to the society.

Consider the scenario where all live, organically-produced music, whether professional or amateur, suddenly vanished globally. The absence would profoundly affect people everywhere.

It is imperative that governments recognise the immense value of organic music and establish sustainable support for classical musicians. This support should include adequate funding that acknowledges the critical role music creators and performers play in enriching our lives.
